MABPRO Safe Evasion Techniques – Principles of Safety (M1 Blended Learning)

Safe Evasion Response is designed to help those being assaulted by interrupting the assault and creating space for the victim to get away and evade to safety. Safe evasion is not offensive it is defensive and is designed to help minimize the risk to both patient and staff. This course will highlight the required skills needed to effectively perform and execute Safe Evasion Manuevers. It will also identify the safety principles of each evasion technique.

Welcome to MABPRO!

Thank you for considering the MABPRO Catalog of Courses.  This course is titled MABPRO Safe Evasion Techniques – Principles of Safety (M1 Blended Learning)

It will lead you through the skill sets needed to perform safe evasion maneuvers to avoid physical assault.  This training will help you develop the ability to increase situational and environmental awareness. MAB Safe Evasion Maneuvers are effective and help provide responsive options to get away from assault.

MAB will provide you with the skills you need to help create moments of safety to then evade the assault.  Energies are spent focused on intuitive motions that keep clinical response in mind.

This is a Blended Learning Course. Those students seeking an Annual MAB Certification, for regulatory purposes, must successfully complete this MAB Safety Module and bring the earned certificate of completion to a scheduled MAB Skill Session hosted by an authorized MABPRO Training Center (See Calendar of Events).

Does this course offer CEUs?

This is a stand alone MAB Continuing Education Unit eligible course.  This course provides two (2) CEU’s from the Board of Registered Nursing.  Successful completion of this course provides the student with a M1 MAB Certificate.

Does this course teach physical Intervention techniques (M2 MAB Certificate)?

Certification on physical intervention techniques is not available online. We do offer Blended Learning options towards the M2 MAB Certification.

What are the steps towards acquiring the MAB M2 Certification

Step 1: You must successfully complete this course (MAB M1) as a prerequisite for the MAB M2 Certificate

Step 2: The M2 MAB Certification also requires the completion of the following additional prerequisite Blended Learning courses:

  • MABPRO M2 Blended Learning – Safe Evasion Techniques – Principles of Safety
  • MABPRO M2 Blended Learning – Clinical Containment Processes – Principles of Safety.

Step 3:  Take the MAB M2 Skills Course at an authorized MAB Training Center.

Required:

  • (Issued) MAB M1 Certificate
  • (Issued) MAB M2 Blended Learning Certificate – MABPRO Safe Evasion Techniques – Principles of Safety
  • (Issued) MAB M2 Blended Learning Certificate – MABPRO Clinical Containment Processes – Principles of Safety.

Students are required to show proof of completed prerequisite courses at the time of the MAB M2 Skills Course registration and classroom instruction.
